Eddie Scott started playing drums at 7 years of age, he played his flrst paid gig at the Beckton Arms, East London when he was just 13 years old, earning the grand sum of £1 & 10 shillings, which was pretty good money for a gig back in 1960. Two years later in 1962 Eddie joined the Driftwoods, playing with people such as Ronnie Lane who later went on to become the Bass Guitarist for The Small Faces. Small faces drummer, Kenny Jones, also came to know and visit Eddie prior to gigs for tips and tuition. Eddie went on working freelance for many years with bands at venues such as the Grosvenor House Hotel and Cafe’ Royal in London, backing well known celebrities such as Helen Shapiro, Gene Pitney and Duggie Brown. In 1977 he joined “The Highlight Sound” playing hotels and clubs for a further 16 years on the London circuit.

A health/retirement move to Devon in September 2007 prompted Eddie to take up his love and interest as a drummer again with South West Shadows Club.

Sadly, Eddie passed away in July 2016 after a long illness.  Eddie & Dee’s contribution to this club is immeasurable, and Eddie will be missed immensely. Rest in peace our talented friend.
